Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Palliative Care) - Metro North Hospital and Health Service, QLD (18/6/2019)

The Metro North Community Palliative Care service is seeking to recruit palliative care specialists to join our growing community palliative care service. The service provides home based palliative care across Metro North HHS, which covers the area north of the Brisbane river to the southern boundary of the Sunshine Coast and west to Moggill and Kilcoy. As part of Metro North's Palliative Care Clinical Services Plan, the HHS intends to enhance patient access to home and community based palliative care services, and we are looking for palliative care specialists to assist us in working towards this goal. We are seeking to fill one 0.5 FTE permanent position and one 1.0 FTE (or 2 X 0.5 FTE) temporary 12- month positions. Applications close 8/7/19

We are currently recruiting for a Medical Consultant in Palliative Care with excellent communication skills to join our growing medical team working in the community. This is a newly established position to support our community teams caring for patients at home. The role will encompass assisting the teams with triage, initial assessments, care planning for complex scenarios, day service clinics, and visits to patient's homes. You will provide backup for the In-patient Unit and the Hospice afterhours service. As a consultant, you will be involved with the education and support for primary care providers and medical students, and contribute to the Hospice education programme and the training of Junior Doctors.
