Palliative Medicine Specialist

The Palliative Medical Specialist provides specialist palliative care clinical services, and working closely with stakeholders, leads the integrated palliative care service both for the DHB and Hospice. You will drive ongoing development and provide support and advice on best practice. Therefore, as well as first-class clinical skills, you will also be able to demonstrate outstanding communication and collaboration skills.

This is a pivotal role, requiring a palliative medicine specialist who has (or is eligible to obtain) Vocational Scope of Practice with the Medical Council of NZ in Palliative Medicine and a current Annual Practicing Certificate. 

Essential requirements for this role include:

 - Qualifications eligible for specialist Physician registration with the New Zealand Medical Council. Appropriate qualifications/experience in Palliative Medicine

- Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM) or equivalent

- Extensive and recent palliative care experience

- Experience in a clinical leadership role preferred
