The story behind ANZSPM’s new logo

The logo of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Palliative Medicine (ANZSPM) has evolved over the years, but always centred around the society’s acronym ANZSPM.

Late 2020, ANZSPM council approved a logo rebrand which included new brand colours. The rebrand was guided by a reference group consisting of interested ANZSPM members who provided their comments and feedback during the development of the new logo. It was decided that the new logo will again centre around the society’s acronym, but the font and colours will be updated and refreshed.

With the help of professional designer Sam Behr, the new ANZSPM logo was developed in close consultation with the reference group and council members:

For the first time in its history, ANZSPM has a coloured font and the shortened name of the society included in its logo. The officially registered name of ANZSPM continues to be ‘The Australian and New Zealand Society of Palliative Medicine Limited.’

The colour green has been chosen to give new, vibrant and fresh appearance to the ANZSPM brand and to reflect the focus of our specialty on palliative medicine as an emerging and evolving specialty focussed on delivering the best quality of life for our patients.
