Survey of the National Palliative Care Workforce Across Health and Aged Care Settings

25 July 2024

Palliative Care Australia is urging anyone working or volunteering in palliative care, especially in primary health and aged care, to lend their voice to a landmark national survey that seeks to increase access to palliative care.

“We want to make sure that palliative care is at the centre of the next round of health and aged care reforms,” says Camilla Rowland, CEO, PCA. And we need your contribution to make this possible.

We have got over 1000 responses so far - a big thank you to those who have taken the survey! “Clearly those who value and see the growing demand for palliative care have important views to share,” says Ms Rowland.

“Those working in specialist palliative care have responded strongly, and we are very grateful for the insights they have shared, but we also need to hear from those working in GP clinics, community health centres, allied health, and aged care."

It takes around 20 minutes to complete and is for everyone who works or volunteers in any service that provides palliative care in Australia.

When doing the survey your identity and the place you work is not captured, recorded, or stored in anyway. It’s important to us that you feel free to express yourself in the interests of those you care for and those you work with.

The results will help us create a picture of the challenges and opportunities of current and future care. Take the survey or share it with your friends and colleagues in the sector - hit the link below

The end date for survey has been set as midnight, Sunday 11 August.
